Sports
At Fingringhoe, we believe that being active, getting outdoors and having the confidence to try new things are an important part of growing up. Our vision, rooted in Joshua 1:9, encourages our children to ‘be strong and courageous’, something we see reflected in PE every day as children challenge themselves, learn new skills, work as a team and develop resilience.
We make the most of our outdoor environment, providing children with regular opportunities to be active, explore, compete and enjoy being outside. We have recently invested significantly in new PE and sporting resources and equipment, ensuring that our children have high-quality opportunities to develop their skills and discover activities they enjoy.
Our PE curriculum is supported by a comprehensive long-term planning platform, providing a clear progression of skills from Reception through to Year 6. This enables children to build confidence and competence over time while experiencing a broad range of sports, games and physical activities.
For us, PE is about much more than sport. It is about developing courage, teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude towards being active – skills that our children can carry with them well beyond their time at primary school.
