Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning gives children the opportunity to experience valuable holistic learning in the natural environment of the woodland. We are very fortunate to have our own dedicated outdoor classroom just a few minutes away from the school site.
Through regular sessions spent in the outdoor classroom, children will develop their own personal relationship with the outdoors. We hope that this in turn will foster a knowledge, love and respect for nature, thus improving childrens’ physical and mental health and wellbeing, as well as encourage children to become future guardians of the natural world.
In the outdoor classroom, children are free to explore, create and learn through play. We strive to make links with learning inside the classroom to further enhance the provision we provide for children. Children will be supported to learn new skills, such as den building and tool use – they will of course also enjoy getting muddy and having fun!
